Whispering Pines Golf Course was designed and built in 1965 on
the property of Chet "Pop" Alex, a PGA golf professional. In 1995 the
course was sold to Bill Kingzett Jr. and a small group of investors including
Bill "Coach" Kingzett and Carol Kingzett, the current General Manager.
The course has undergone dramatic changes since 1994. Over 100,000 cubic
yards of dirt was moved to construct large ponds, privacy mounds and new tee
boxes. The irrigation system was expanded, as were many existing
tee boxes. The Club House has had a complete face lift and the interior
was remodeled. Cart paths have been added, a banquet facility that seats
150 was constructed and a new maintenance facility was remodeled. A new
fleet of 65 golf carts was purchased and the entire grounds keeping equipment
has been updated.
